Mike, a native Rhode Islander, has been playing guitar since he was thirteen years old. He was lead guitarist in a number of bands throughout his formative years, most notably, The Lawrence Talbot band, which took him to the stage at Max’s Kansas City and the CBGB Club—both in New York City. In the summer of 1980, after quite a few years of playing on the road and fixing his own guitars, Mike attended the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, AZ, graduating in ’81 as a certified luthier.

After running the family shoe business for the last 30 years while simultaneously performing in bands and doing guitar repair on the side, Mike decided to return full-time to his first passion.

Mike offers a full range of guitar repair services and is currently in the process of designing a travel guitar for the traveling instrumentalist which will be out by spring 2018. Check out his guitar repair blog and see the vintage Gibson guitars in the repair shop.

You can also catch him out and about on stages across Rhode Island and Massachusetts playing guitar and mandolin with his band, Clear Blue. ( I am taking a short medical break this year with the band)
